Job Roles in Dietetics Jobs

In the UK, those applying for dietetics jobs have a wide range of choices for specializations. Traditionally the majority of dietitians work in the National Health Service (NHS) in hospitals and community settings, but dietitians now also work in education, the sports nutrition field, in research, and for the food industry.

As a dietician in a hospital, you may work with patients with diabetes, allergies, kidney problems or other medical conditions that require a special diet. This is usually the first post many new graduates are offered. Hospital jobs typically involve working with both children and adults and many new dieticians use this post to decide what specialty they prefer. Dietetics jobs like these  almost always start at NHS Band 5 and as a specialty is chosen, move up to a Band 6 or a Band 7.

You’ll find an array of interesting dietetics jobs online. Newly graduated dieticians may not be qualified for many of the most interesting jobs but looking through the offerings from both the NHS and private employers is a good way to help plan your future career path. You may find a specialty you ere not familiar with or you could look into high-paying private employment and see what type of experience you should be getting now to obtain one of these high paying jobs in the future.
